Tours to ‘Experience and Bring Alive’ the D-Day landings of 6th June 1944 and the subsequent Battle Of Normandy.
Being a British company Pegasus Normandy Tours took the name from the famous bridge at Bénouville. Formerly known as the Bénouville Bridge it was nicknamed Pegasus Bridge after D-Day because of the insignia worn on the upper sleeve of the uniforms of the British 6th Airborne Division, the liberating Allied soldiers.
We specialize in exciting tours of the whole Normandy region. We devise itineraries that suit everyone of any age and any nationality. We plan our tours to suit each group individually so they are interesting and enjoyable.
You are assured of an excellent tour where you have as much time as you would like to have your questions answered, walk on the beaches, peer out from the artillery emplacements and soak in the atmosphere of June 1944 and the Normandy of today.
Tours of any length are available from 1 to 14 days.
Why Book A Tour With Us?
If you want to walk along the beach and breathe in the fresh sea air, look out from the cliffs and admire the view, walk through the narrow country lanes and take in the scenery I really do not blame you!
But...if you want that beach, cliff or narrow lane to be brought to life in front of you then you have come to the right place. You could literally spend years poring over maps, buying the books and trying to find the ‘out of the way’ places, we have spent years doing this and we still do! What you get with each tour is a properly researched itinerary. This consumes time in advance so that your days are used correctly and efficiently, even if you have a great knowledge of the region and the events you can learn more, not one guide in this area knows it all and they’ll be the first to tell you so. More discoveries are being made all the time, more stories reveal themselves and we make it our business to keep on top of this so as to keep our tours fresh and interesting.
Since we have been working here we have basically seen two types of tour. One is what we do with specialized guides who have a passion for their work, for whom it is also their hobby, who have spent years researching and being interested in the events and see their work as total enjoyment. The other tours where you are rushed from place to place with a guide who has a group to large to handle and can therefore only ever take in a couple of main sites on a coach that is too large to even negotiate some of the small country lanes to see some of the ‘out of the way’ sites is something we see all the time. We like to consider ourselves to be in the first of the above two groups and we are not the only ones, some quick research online will soon bring up some results of other very good and reputable tour companies, some of which are cheaper and some of which are more expensive but as with anything it’s entirely up to you who you choose to tour with, all we can say is that you will not be disappointed with the service that we offer.
Our tours move at the correct pace and leave time for all questions to be answered. Please take a look at the tours and places of interest on this website and for a no obligation enquiry please contact us.
